At Adirondack Mountain King Shepherds, we are dedicated to improving and developing the standard of the rare breed.
We are located in the beautiful Adirondack Region of upstate New York on 120 acres of farm land, All my dogs are raised in my home and they are members of my family.
The King Shepherd dog is a large, rugged, powerful and very impressive, possessing great endurance and agility. These dogs were selectively bred to be large in stature and loyal and protective to their families. They are extremely intelligent and easy to train. These majestic dogs turn heads everywhere they go. They are considered a "Rare Breed" and recognized by ARBA the American Rare Breed Association.
All our breeding dogs have had their hips tested by the Penn Hip Method. This is a multifaceted radiographic screening method for hip evaluation. The Penn Hip method of evaluation is more accurate than the current standard in its ability to predict the onset of osteoarthritis (OA). Ostioarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease (DJD) is the hallmark of hip dysplasia (HD).
Our dogs have been 100% cleared of all hip diseases. We urge all potential KIng Sheperd owners to research the breed thoroughly and also to carefully select a Recommended American King Shepherd Breeder that is in good standing with the one and only American King Shepherd Club International.
